The worker-owned work ledger

Time tracking that explains the work.

The tracker your team won’t hate. It records only when they press Start, screenshots stay on their machine until they approve them, idle time never counts as work — and everything the workspace can see, they can see. Proof of work, owned by the person who did it.

What’s real today
Live today

Desktop time tracking on macOS and Windows, screenshot capture and activity signals, the manager dashboard and evidence review, member-owned evidence and deletion, the project Kanban board, notes and voice notes, meeting recording with transcripts and action items, AI day summaries, the team knowledge base, and ClickUp, GitHub and Google Calendar connections.

On the roadmap

Still to come: OCR search inside screenshots, browser-URL capture, syncing time back to ClickUp, Jira and Linear, and billing checkout. We label these clearly in the app and never bill you for what isn’t built.

Early access · what we believe
Work should be visible without being surveilled. We’re building WorkTrack HQ in the open — every screenshot, every session, owned by the person who made it.

Product

One desktop app. One dashboard. Reports clients read.

Three surfaces, one source of truth. Each surface is built for one role — the person tracking, the person reviewing, the person paying the invoice.

AI work evidence · planned placeholder

Stop reviewing screenshots one by one.

The ledger stays transparent first, and AI reads it rather than replacing it. Day summaries, meeting transcripts and action items, and automation signals are live; OCR search inside screenshots is still to come. Every AI line is labelled as AI, and the evidence it was written from sits beside it. It runs on our servers today \u2014 and the work that only concerns one person is the work we intend to move onto that person’s own machine.

WorkTrack is not just another time tracker.

Hubstaff, Time Doctor, and Toggl track time and capture screenshots. WorkTrack turns those captures into AI-readable evidence and syncs the result back to the task.

What we’re building

Status meetings, swapped for evidence.

We’re early and we’d rather say so. Here’s the outcome we’re building toward — no customer quotes we haven’t earned.

Turn weekly status updates into a short, evidence-backed review — instead of a meeting.
For managers
Stop arguing about hours. Look at what actually happened in the session ledger.
For teams
Give every member a record they own — proof of work, not a surveillance feed.
For members
How it works

Four steps, no clipboards.

Up and running by lunch on the day you sign up. No onboarding call required.

STEP 1

Connect your tools

Import your ClickUp lists, link commits from GitHub, and pull meetings from Google Calendar. Jira and Linear are still to come.

STEP 2

Start a session

Pick a project, choose a task, and start a focused work session.

STEP 3

Capture evidence

Screenshots and aggregate activity are captured transparently. OCR and meeting capture are planned placeholders.

STEP 4

Review and sync

Managers review time, activity, and protected screenshot metadata. Sync-back and AI summaries come later.

Privacy & security

Built for visibility, not spyware.

Evidence works both ways. Managers get clarity. Employees get proof. Both get a system they can look at without flinching.

Employees see their own evidence

Every team member has access to their own capture history. No hidden frames.

On-device AI placeholder

Local screenshot analysis, OCR, and sensitive-data detection are planned after the transparent evidence ledger is stable.

Sensitive screenshot redaction scaffold

Redaction policy is visible now; automatic detection and audit-logged deletion flows are planned placeholders.

Transparent tracking indicators

The desktop app always shows when tracking is on. No hidden mode, ever.

Role-based access controls

Granular permissions. Reviewers see only what they need to verify or bill against.

Admin policy controls

Raw screenshot upload can be disabled. Retention windows and export rules.

Privacy modes

Pick a posture, applied per workspace.

Strict · default

Strict privacy

Raw screenshot URLs stay private. Captures are held on the member’s machine until they approve them, and a removed capsule is destroyed on the server, not just hidden.

Balanced

Balanced

Planned mode for uploaded screenshots after local redaction and retention checks are implemented.

Audit · opt-in

Audit mode

Planned mode for approved teams that require raw screenshot retention with access controls.

Use cases

Built for how modern work actually happens.

Different teams need different things. WorkTrack bends to each — without losing the principles that made you pick it up.

USE CASE 01

Remote software teams

Connect Jira, Linear, and GitHub to link coding activity, PRs, and issue progress to tracked time.

USE CASE 02

Agencies

Turn tracked sessions into billing-ready evidence and client reports without writing them by hand.

USE CASE 03

BPOs

Monitor activity consistency, detect automation anomalies, and review only the sessions that need attention.

USE CASE 04

Freelancers

Prove work without writing long manual status updates. AI summaries do the writing.

USE CASE 05

Finance + admin teams

Track document work, approvals, spreadsheets, and process-heavy tasks across systems.

USE CASE 06

Customer support

Understand shift activity, ticket handling, and meeting time across distributed teams.

Pricing

Simple per-seat pricing.

Every plan includes the same privacy controls, role-based access, and audit log — the safety floor doesn't depend on what you pay.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before signing up.

Honest answers. If yours isn't here, write to hello@worktrackhq.com — a person reads every message.

WorkTrack includes time tracking, screenshots, and activity signals — but the product is built around transparency and proof of work, not hidden surveillance. Workers always see when tracking is on and can review their own captures.
Yes. Every team member has access to the screenshots taken during their own sessions. This is on by default and isn't something admins can switch off.
Yes. A member can remove any ten-minute capsule of their day: the captures and the window titles inside it are destroyed on the server, not hidden behind a permission — nobody can recover them, including us. That time then counts as unevidenced and is not billable hours. Automatic sensitive-content detection is still to come.
Today, no — every AI feature runs server-side through a hosted model provider. Where it runs is deliberately a question of SCOPE, not of model size: reading one person’s own day needs only their own signals, while summarising a whole team needs everyone’s, so the team-wide work will always be central. We intend to move the personal-scope work onto your own machine so your raw day never has to leave it for a summary of itself. That is a direction, not a date, and we will not claim it here until it ships. Whatever runs where, every AI line is labelled as AI and sits beside the evidence it was written from.
Yes. Captures are held on the member’s own machine until they approve them, and a member can set a threshold so low-activity captures never leave the device at all. Workspace-level upload rules and retention windows are enforced server-side, not just in the app.
ClickUp and GitHub are connected today — import your ClickUp lists and tasks, and link commits to tracked sessions as an authenticity signal. Google Calendar is connected too, for meeting identity. Jira and Linear are not built yet; we would rather say so than list a logo.
Not yet. Import works today; writing time entries back out is still to come. The ledger is the source of truth first.
There are signals for it — synthetic input, remote-control tools, and incoherent activity patterns are recorded alongside the aggregate counts. They are signals, not verdicts: they surface for a human to review and never auto-penalise anyone.
Yes. The desktop app can record a call and produce a transcript, a summary, and action items you can turn into tasks. It is consent-gated and never starts on its own — the member presses record, and the app shows that it is recording the whole time.
Yes for project time, dashboard review, screenshot metadata, and report scaffolds. Billing-ready exports and AI invoice summaries are planned placeholders.
Yes. Enterprise plans include SSO/SAML/SCIM, custom data retention, and private cloud or on-prem deployment options.
